Secret: 4271 | Guess: 1234
Result: 3 Matches (1, 2, 4)

Exact Match

Tells you how many digits are correct in BOTH value and position.

Secret: 4271 | Guess: 1234
Result: 1 Exact Match (The 2)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the secret number start with a zero?

Yes! The secret number is treated as a sequence of digits, not a mathematical integer. So '0123' is a valid 4-digit secret.

What happens if I guess a repeating digit in 'Any Match' mode?

If the secret number is '1234' and you guess '1155', you will get 1 Match. The system matches each digit in the secret number at most once.

Is there a limit to how many guesses I can make?

No, you can take as many attempts as you need. That said, the Daily Challenge records your attempt count and time, so it's worth trying to solve it in as few guesses as possible.

When does the Daily Challenge reset?

A new puzzle is available every day at midnight UTC. A countdown timer on the Daily Challenge page shows exactly how long until the next challenge.

What are the clues in the Daily Challenge?

Each day you receive 4 clues about a secret 4-digit number. Each clue tells you how many digits are correct and whether they are in the right position. Use them to narrow down the answer before you start guessing.
